The latest statistics have it that Mexico tops the list of countries with the most expensive passport. A 10 year passport from Mexico amounts to approximately INR 19,481.75 / USD 230.85. Besides being very expensive, Mexico’s passport allows its holder visa-free travel to 162 countries. Other costly countries include Australia, the USA, New Zealand costing from as high as INR 10,663.70 for a 10-year passport to INR 19,047.14. Such passports usually provide their holders with an opportunity to visit a number of countries without visa, which explains their expensive prices.
The Cheapest Passports and Budget-Friendly Travel
At the extreme end, we have the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which now sells them at the lowest price possible. For just 1493.73 UAE dirhams ($17.70), holders of a UAE passport could visit 183 country without a visa. Here we have India’s passport ranking second cheapest which costs ₹1,524.95 ($18.07) for the validity of 10years. While India’s passport is ranked 60th in the world to be able to travel without a visa to 62 countries, the overall cost of obtaining it is incredibly cheap.
